Amei-lee Laboucan resides on the shared Coast Salish territories of the Kwantlen, Katzie, Kwikwetlem, QayQayt, Semiahmoo, Tsawwassen, Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. Amei-lee is of mixed Black and Indigenous ancestry and is a visitor from Treaty 8 territory. Laboucan is a recent journalism graduate and aspiring journalist who has bylines in The Tyee, alt. Theatre, and Canadian Literature.
