COOKIES AND TRACKING

Our magazine website is an open access site. No paywalls.

We don’t use Google analytics. We use Matomo, a leading open alternative to Google Analytics that gives you full control over your data. Privacy is baked in. It’s not free like Google Analytics. But we believe investment in your ability to control your personal information is a priority.

When you visit Liisbeth.com, our analytics systems collect basic information via about your computer hardware/device (if you are viewing Liisbeth on a mobile device or desktop), and which operating system (e.g., Windows 95), browser software (e.g., Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape), Internet Service Provider (e.g., AOL). We also have access to information about what what country you live in and what you view on the site via your IP address. We do not collect your name or other personal information. Device/computer and page visit information is only available in aggregate to give us insight into the user population as a whole and to help us better understand the Liisbeth community. This “trend” information helps us identify popular features and content on our site–it helps us do a better job of choosing what to publish in the future.

When subscribing to the newsletter, we only ask for your name and email address. That’s it. We store this information in Mailchimp. We NEVER re-sell or give away our subscriber list to anyone else. Period. We use third party payment systems such as PayPal, Stripe, Patreon to process payments so we do not collect credit card information.

When you sign up to the newsletter, you will receive one newsletter per month plus the occasional special edition or announcement.  We are GDPR and PIPEDA compliant. You can always unsubscribe if you no longer wish to receive our content.

We do not use Facebook groups.  We host our Feminist Enterprise Commons community on Mighty Networks, a female-founded groups platform which is surveillance and ad free.

SOCIAL MEDIA

We have company accounts on Facebook and Instagram but as of November, 2021, given consistent research proving this organization harms women, girls and democracy in its current iteration, we no longer invest in animating or promoting LiisBeth on these channels.

We call on all entrepreneurs to reconsider their relationship with Facebook until such time that this global powerhouse demonstrates that is is listening and changing.

You can however still find us active on LinkedIn and Twitter.

QUESTIONS? CONCERNS?

Things are always changing on the data and privacy front.  As a micro enterprise, it’s a lot to keep up with. Please let us know if we need to improve, catch up or if we missed anything.

Any questions with respect to this Privacy Policy, or any request to access or change Personal Information, should be directed to [email protected]
